Why I built Bluecut

I wanted posting to stop feeling like a second job.

I started Bluecut as a captioning project. Then I got stuck on a larger problem: a coach can record a useful idea in five minutes and still lose another hour making it ready to post.

I have spent most of the past year building a system that makes those routine editing decisions automatically. It is still early. That is why I am inviting a small group of coaches to test it closely and tell me where it fails.

Why is it only $5?
The $5 price is temporary pioneer pricing. While Bluecut is small, your honest feedback is more valuable than charging the full price.
What if I want revisions?
Submit the same video again to get a different edited version. And because you will be in touch with the person building Bluecut, I am open to all feedback on what you want changed or improved.
What videos work best?
Vertical, single-speaker talking-head videos with clear audio, up to 7 minutes long. That is the format Bluecut is built for right now.
How long does an edit take?
The target is about 30 minutes. It is an estimate during beta, not a guaranteed delivery time.
Will Bluecut change what I mean?
The goal is to tighten your message without flattening your voice. That is one reason pioneer feedback matters, and why we are in beta.
Can I use Bluecut without editing experience?
Yes. Record your video, tap send, and receive the finished edit back.
Can I upload an existing video?
Yes. Add a video from your camera roll. Make sure it is recorded vertically and is under 7 minutes long.
What happens to my recordings?
They travel straight from the app to Bluecut’s server, where—according to legend—a tiny backstage crew gets to work: sweeping out ums, shortening long silences, polishing the sound, adding captions, and packing your finished video up for the trip back to your app. No editing desk for you. Just a cleaner video returned home.
Can I cancel?
Yes, you can cancel anytime. Just chat with us in the app or email support@bluecutapp.com to request cancellation.
