Bluecut perspective · creators and video
Platforms want original video. They still make you do the editing.
X is adding more built-in recording and editing tools to encourage people to post original video instead of recycled content. That makes sense. But it also reveals the problem creators actually have.
Every platform wants you to show up more. Make a video. Add captions. Put a hook on it. Make it vertical. Make it clean. Make it feel natural. Then do it again tomorrow.
For a coach, that is a strange job to inherit. You started to help people solve something. You did not start to become the person who spends an hour choosing cuts and watching the same take back six times.
Original does not have to mean unedited.
Your face, your experience, your examples, and your opinion are what make the video original. Removing the long pause, the restart, or the sentence you said twice does not make it less real. It makes the useful part easier for someone else to hear.
The problem is not that creators need more buttons in another video editor. The problem is that editing becomes the toll you have to pay before you can share the thing you already know.
Record the useful thought. Let the editing work happen after you press send.
That is the Bluecut bet: real people should be able to make consistent video without turning every thought into a tiny post-production project.
This response was prompted by TechCrunch’s report on X adding creator video-editing features.
